Zoanthids and Palythoa are a large group of corals in the reef keeping hobby that come in an amazing array of colors and patterns - making them extremely popular with both beginner aquarists and rare coral collectors. They are found in coral reefs all around the world, but typically originate in Fiji, Tonga, the Solomon Islands and Australia's Great Barrier Reef.
Both zoas and palys are fairly easy to keep, tolerating a wide range of lighting, water flow and conditions. They multiple rapidly once settled in. While they don't require supplemental feeding, they do have the ability to capture prey (Palythoas more so than Zoanthids) and will benefit from microplankton.
